2020-2021:

United States v. Luis Noel Cruz – compassionate release from four consecutive life sentences

Anthony A. v. Commissioner – appellate win finding DOC violation of due process

Joseph Stephenson v. Commissioner – appellate win reversing dismissal of habeas on mootness

United States v. William Tisdol – granting motion to suppress cell phone evidence after Government’s failure to obtain a timely search warrant

L.B. – absolute pardon for charges of possession of narcotics, use of a motor vehicle without permission, breach of peace, risk of injury, assault in the third degree, threatening, sexual assault in the first degree, interfering/resisting arrest and a violation of probation

2022-2023:

United States v. Dewayne Joyner – on appeal to the Second Circuit, sentence vacated and remanded based upon Government’s failure to prove drug quantity at trial

State v. V.S. – sentence commuted from 45 years to 25 years

United States v. Ronell Hanks – compassionate release granted, reducing sentence from 17 years to 8 years

State v. Jordan – sentence reduced from 45 years to 25 years

Saunders v. Commissioner of Correction – appeal to the Conn. Supreme Court, remanding case to habeas court for further proceedings regarding competency

Sease v. Commissioner of Correction – appeal to the Conn. appellate court, remanding case to habeas court for further proceedings related to determining competency of counsel at sentencing

Stephenson v. Warden – conviction overturned and remanded to criminal court for further proceedings

United States v. Isaiah Halliday – compassionate release granted, reducing sentence from 108 months to 55 months

Ravon Donald v. Commissioner of Correction – ineffective assistance of counsel at sentencing stage; re-sentencing ordered

State v. Traficonda – 60 year sentence commuted making client eligible for halfway house transition, given good time earned

Hodge v. Commissioner of Correction – sua sponte judicial dismissal without prior notice and opportunity to be heard was error; case remanded

State v. Gayle – 65 year sentence for murder commuted to 35 years

State v. Gonzalez – sentence modified from 38 years to 23 years, making client eligible for release in 2 years

United States v. Luis Garciacell phone evidence suppressed after finding that warrant lacked probable cause, was overbroad and lacked particularity

State v. Dupigny70 year sentence modified to 28 years and 6 months, resulting in immediate release of client
