Alice joins Koch, Garg, Walker & Smart as Of Counsel, continuing her distinguished career as a criminal defense attorney. With over 30 years of criminal defense experience, Alice is a skilled trial lawyer in both the Part A and Part B courts. Her practice includes all phases of the criminal process, including pretrial negotiations, trials, violations of probation, appeals, sentence modifications, pardons and petitions for habeas corpus. She has written and argued more than 80 appeals.
Alice graduated from Fairfield University with a B.S. in Finance and received her Juris Doctor degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law. She is admitted to the practice of law in the State of Connecticut and the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to joining the firm, Alice worked at another firm that specializes in criminal defense and habeas corpus. Alice began her career at the Connecticut Public Defender’s Office where she worked in both the trial courts and in their appellate division. She also taught the Appellate Defense Clinic at the Quinnipiac University School of Law.
Alice is empathetic and non-judgmental and takes a client-centered approach in formulating a vigorous defense. There are often many paths to defending a charge and Alice always places a client’s concerns first with the goal of working out the best possible outcome.
